- Purpose
This drill practices your technique and control of the ball on your first touch, when the ball is coming down from the air. This is useful to practice because it’s going to improve your overall ball mastery and control, but at the same time directly in-game situations, where you have to perform a perfect first touch from a ball coming down from high up in the air. It’s critical to be able to control a ball like that, especially as a defender. Because making a mistake here, could lead to a very dangerous counter attack against your team.
